How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

Hypnosis works by quieting down the conscious mind so that unconscious mind is more susceptible to changing beliefs, behaviours and embedding suggestions.

All our behaviours, beliefs and experiences are stored in the Unconscious mind, but firstly they would have been learnt, questioned and processed through the Conscious mind. The conscious mind acts as a security guard and only filters thoughts and suggestions that you believe to be true and rejects others. These become patterns and programmes of behaviour that run automatically in different situations.

However, not all of these programmes are helpful; they can affect the quality of your life, stop you from achieving and hinder your true potential, diverting you from the path that you wish to travel.

It is difficult to changes to our beliefs and programmed behaviours on a conscious level. You need to work on a deeper level.

When in a trance-like state, the unconscious mind is more readily able to absorb new suggestions or access memories without the interference of the conscious mind. These new beliefs and learnings are then stored with along with memories.
