Motivation

Because just wanting something is not enough on its own.

Have you ever wanted something, but the momentum to actually take the action needed has just not materialised? Maybe you did start off running, but then ground to a halt?

Just wanting something is not enough on its own…

Motivation plays an essential role in achieving your goals. Motivation is the inner drive that carries you forward to completion and success.

How can Hypnotherapy and Coaching Help your Motivation?

You may know what it is you want to achieve, and even how you will get there, but without motivation nothing will happen. It plays a essential part of the process that guides and maintains your goal-orientated actions.

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.

Coaching will help you to explore what really motivates you, and using this insight will keep you moving forward.

Your Life Coach is there to support you and to help you develop and structure a suitable path towards your goal.

However, sometimes the cause for procrastination or self sabotage runs deeper…

Hypnotherapy can help you to uncover and resolve the unconscious blocks that are stopping you from chasing your dream. Hypnosis can help you to make changes in your belief system and the way you see yourself, enabling you to develop a positive mindset, focus and drive.

How are you motivated? There are three types of motivation…

  • Survival
Primarily, we all have the motivation to survive. This is a basic human need which is inbuilt in you, this desire to survive leads you to performing actions and behaviours known as instincts.  These basic needs are food, water, shelter and clothing.  Without these you would be unable to accomplish anything beyond this.
  • Outside Motivation
This is where you are motivated from an external reward, this is called Extrinsic Motivation. You may have no interest on the task but are motivated by the anticipated satisfaction, this could be Success, Fame or Fortune. However, this reward may also simply be achieving a good grade in a test or a Thank You from someone. The reward still comes from an outside source and your pleasure comes from that.
  • Inside Motivation
Comes from within. An internal reward system, called Intrinsic Motivation. It is your sense of fulfilment, enjoyment and passion for the task that keeps you moving forward. This internal momentum also comes from the challenge and desire to learn.  This is not to say that you may not also want the external reward, but it is just not enough on its own to keep your interest. It is more about the journey for you than the end result.

Remember: What Motivates one person often does not motivate another,  we are all different and will use both Intrinsic and Extrinsic motivation depending on the task at hand.

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will
